For over 30 years, Dentonites have taken an active role in keeping their city clean and beautiful by participating in the Great American Cleanup (GAC). GAC is part of a national effort with Keep America Beautiful, and more than 20,000 communities take part each year.
This spring, GAC has been extended from a one-day effort into a month-long event. Join us during the month of March in our annual cleanup effort and help improve the beauty and health of our community!
Cleanups will be organized similarly to KDB’s Meetup Cleanup program with cleanup locations assigned citywide, but unlike prior years, volunteers will not be matched to work with other individuals or households. To volunteer, either as a household or individual, register by February 24.
For more information including our updated safety precautions, check out our GAC 2021 FAQ.
In 2020, nearly 500 Denton volunteers joined together to clean up more than 1.75 tons of litter. These dedicated community members removed trash and recycling from our city’s streets, waterways, and public spaces, leaving Denton visibly cleaner and more beautiful.
If you were unable to turn in your GAC report during the event, there’s still time to add your efforts to the overall impact. Don’t wait – submit your cleanup report below.
We enjoyed seeing photos from your cleanup efforts on social media! Check out photos from our rescheduled cleanup date by event photographer, Gabriel Lee on the KDB blog.
